Good Stuff Gets Creative

Good Stuff Gets Creative

We hope you all had a wonderful Easter! This year, we decided to do something extra fun! Good Stuff Thrift held its first Easter egg hunt! We hid golden eggs with coupons inside them throughout each of our four stores. Congratulations to everyone who was able to find them. Each egg had a $5 discount inside, so each customer who found one could use it toward their purchase that day.

Take a look at some of the places we hid the golden eggs! Were any of these the spots you found them in?  If you didn’t get a chance to find any of the eggs, don’t worry, there will be plenty of other opportunities to participate in other events throughout the year, so stay tuned to see when our next Good Stuff activity will be.

Earth Day

On April 22nd, Good Stuff Thrift celebrated Earth Day! Thrifting is a great way to support environmental sustainability. It encourages society to reuse, repair, and recycle their unwanted goods instead of throwing them away. This allows pre-loved items to get a second chance at life which promotes resource efficiency and reduces textile waste. What a great way to help the planet you love!

We had the most adorable graphic created to encourage people to shop secondhand! This graphic was posted on Facebook, Instagram, and on our Good Stuff Thrift app. Customers who showed our cashiers this graphic received $5 off their purchase. We hope you enjoyed it!

Hope Learning Center Donation Drive

On April 6th, Hope Learning Center held a very successful donation drive in Perkasie. They were able to fill a truck with 12 gaylords as well as a full Good Stuff Thrift van in response to Good Stuff Thrift’s need for donations. Bob Clark represented the Good Stuff Thrift board at the event. Here are some pictures from the donation drive!

Charity of the Month

The mission of Lenape Valley Foundation (LFV) is to partner with members of our community encountering mental health, substance use, intellectual or developmental challenges as they pursue their personal aspirations and an enhanced quality of life.

LFV “Strives to help each person find hope, a renewed spirit, and a revived sense of dignity, and the opportunity to live a full and productive life. They offer mental health services, early intervention services, and intellectual disability services.

A brief history of Lenape Valley Foundation;

“Established in 1958 as the Mental Health Guidance Center of Bucks County (MHGC), the agency began to deliver outpatient mental health services at a Doylestown site using psychiatrists from Norristown State Hospital. In the 1960’s, MHGC changed its name to the Bucks County Psychiatric Center (BCPC).

In 1980, LVF opened its main facility, located on the campus of Doylestown Hospital, at 500 North West Street.

In the 1990’s, LVF became the behavioral healthcare partner and provider for the Doylestown Hospital Local Treatment Unit for the PennCARE Hospital Network’s capitated contract with U.S. Healthcare/Aetna. LVF and Doylestown Hospital expanded the inpatient psychiatric unit to include a geriatric track and LVF began to deliver geriatric consultation services in area nursing homes. A new residential program in Warminster was opened to serve as long-term housing for persons with mental illness that were well into recovery.

Pizza & Parenting

Many parents and caregivers struggle with how to help their child or teen with behavioral health issues. By attending one of these FREE workshops targeting specific age groups of the child, we will provide you with useful, age-appropriate information and practical strategies you can use at home right away. You’ll also meet other caregivers facing similar issues.

Presenters are both skilled clinicians specializing in children and teens, and parents themselves. All caregivers are welcome, including but not limited to: parents, step-parents, grandparents, foster parents, and professional caregivers!

All classes will be held in person at: Lenape Valley Foundation 500 North West Street, Doylestown, PA.

The Doylestown United Methodist Church (DUMC)

DUMC held a Good Stuff Thrift Spring Collection Drive on April 20th. They asked the community to support them by doing a little spring cleaning and donating their gently used clothing, toys, shoes, baby items, household goods, furniture, jewelry, and more!

“Thank you to everyone who volunteered and donated to our Good Stuff Thrift Spring Collection Drive! The donation truck was nearly full by the end of our collection. Your thoughtfulness and generosity will have an immense impact on our community and is truly appreciated!” – DUMC

The Doylestown United Methodist Church also hosted an Eggstravaganza event that Good Stuff Thrift provided funding for the week before Easter! Good Stuff Thrift supported the addition of the petting zoo which you can see below shown in one of the pictures! We were grateful to be able to contribute to such an amazing event.

Teamwork Makes the Dream Work

We love working with other non-profit thrift stores for the greater good of the community. Good Stuff Thrift teamed up with Warminster’s Habitat Re-Store and contributed a truck-load of donations to their cause. Sharing is caring!

“Thank you Good Stuff Thrift for your generous donation. Your contribution is greatly appreciated.” – Habitat Re-Store
