Good Things are Coming to Good Stuff Thrift

Valentine's Day Contest

Once again, this year Good Stuff Thrift held their Valentine’s Day Contest. There was a jar filled with candy hearts located at the register of each of our four stores! Whoever guessed the closest to the correct amount of candy in the jar without going over won a $25 dollar gift card to Good Stuff Thrift and got to take home the adorable jar along with all the candy!

We hope you all had fun guessing and congrats to all of our winners! Be sure to keep your eye out for future activities that pop up throughout our stores during the holidays. Want a hint as to what our next one will be? Well…if you’re lucky enough, you may find yourself reaching into a pot of gold or in this case, discounts, at the end of the Good Stuff rainbow come March! Stay tuned!

Jesus Focus Ministry Pantry

“The Jesus Focus Ministry Food Pantry at Bethanna’s mission is to serve the people with the love of Jesus Christ. The Pantry has been serving Bucks County for 30 years, having moved to Bethanna in 2016. Last year, the Pantry gave hope and comfort by distributing nearly 14,000 meals to children, adults, and seniors living in [their] community. [They] are proud of this accomplishment, but [their] task continues to grow. Even in Bucks County, one in ten of our neighbors struggle to put food on the table.

Introducing Director Marcy Barnes

Who is Marcy Barnes?

When you think of Marcy Barnes, Jesus Focus Ministry (JFM) automatically comes to mind.  JFM Food Pantry at Bethanna has been a pillar in our community for over 25 years.  Marcy has been at Bethanna for 38 years, she started in 1985 and has been providing leadership to the JFM food pantry since 2016.

Marcy resides in the Southampton/Richboro areas and has been married to the love of her life, Michael 52 years. Marcy has 2 daughters and 3 grandchildren, one of whom recently got married in Minnesota.  Marcy enjoyed traveling to Minnesota for the wedding and spending time with family is most important to her.  Family and faith are two cornerstones in her life. She loves serving the Lord wherever; it brings her so much joy.

In a recent interview with Marcy, she stated, “JFM is a lighthouse here in the community.  We are grateful to be the hands and feet of Jesus as we serve and provide for the families that are experiencing food insecurity. The Pantry could not operate without the faithful commitment of our team of volunteers who have hearts for the families in the community.

The food pantry is open from 9 – 11:30 Monday-Friday.

They currently have a “Feeding our Families” Campaign going on now.  You can be a part of our campaign too. To learn more, visit www.bethanna.org/about/jfmfoodpantry

“Thanks to the outpouring of generosity by their supporters, the Pantry has never had to turn anyone in need away. Individuals, companies, and groups donated over 180,000 pounds of food last year!”

We wanted to share one of our latest discoveries with you about our lovely Barbara J. Zarrillo. She is not only the decorator at our Fairless Hills location, but did you know that she is also a poet? How cool is that? Check out this piece she wrote after an interaction she had with one of our customers at Good Stuff Thrift!
