Requirements and responsibilities
- Must have valid driver’s license, clean driving history, and be able to pass driver’s medical exam
- Responsible for the safe and proper operation of a 26′ box truck
- Work involves frequent lifting of moderate to heavy bags and boxes of donations, moving furniture, using appropriate tools, contacting a variety of substances that may be part of the donation, bending, twisting, and using some fine motor skills
- Requires strong communication skills, discretion in accepting donations and flexibility to work with colleagues from all our stores
- Will be sitting much of the day, followed by periods of intense effort
- At times, will have a partner and sometimes will be alone
- May never drive the truck when under the influence of mind-altering substances or when ill or excessively tired
